Set up Project and Project Lead creation From Outlook

Baucore lets you create or update Projects and Project Leads directly from Outlook.

Steps

1. Follow Salesforce’s standard steps to update or create an Email Application Pane (see Salesforce Help for the current guided setup).
2. Drag the custom managed component projectCheckForEmailClient onto the desired section of the pane.
3. Click Save and Activate.

When you open an incoming email, the same guided flow described in Create New Project and Project Lead appears in the Salesforce pane. Specially adapted for Outlook, the email subject is automatically used as the project name, and the email’s sender is automatically added as a Participant.

Excluding certain email domains from participant creation

You can exclude specific domains from being auto-added as Participants, using two records of the Baucore New Project Email Client Setting custom metadata type:

• Exclude Participants By Email Domains — excludes addresses from the opened email based on a comma-separated list of domain names.
• Exclude Participants By My Email Domain — excludes addresses that share the current user’s own email domain.

To configure these, go to Setup > Custom Metadata Types > Baucore New Project Email Client Setting, choose the record you want, and edit its Value field.
