Baucore Migration Guide: 1GP to 2GP

Taskadmin

Applies to: Customers running Baucore versions earlier than 10.0 Required: Yes — this migration is mandatory before upgrading to 10.0 or later.

Starting with version 10.0, Baucore has moved from a first-generation package (1GP) to a second-generation package (2GP). This is a one-time migration that must be completed before any further upgrades can be installed.

Why is this needed?

Salesforce second-generation packages (2GP) offer improved dependency management, better version control, and a more modern development model. To benefit from these improvements and continue receiving Baucore updates, a one-time migration from 1GP to 2GP is required.

Migration steps

Both steps below are mandatory and must be completed in order.

Step 1 — Install the final 1GP release

Install the last first-generation package version. This ensures your org is on the latest 1GP baseline before migrating. Use the installation link provided by your Baucore contact, for either production or a sandbox.

Step 2 — Install the 2GP bridge version (v9.190443.0.1)

Install the initial second-generation package version. This version serves as the bridge from 1GP to 2GP.

During installation, you will be prompted to confirm the migration — select Yes to proceed.

Step 3 — Upgrade to the latest version

After the migration is complete, install the latest package version listed at the top of BauCore Release Notes.

Important notes

  • Order matters: Step 1 must be completed before Step 2. Step 2 must be completed before upgrading to 10.0+.
  • One-time only: This migration only needs to be done once per org. After completing it, all future upgrades work as normal package installations.
  • No data loss: The migration preserves all existing Baucore data, configurations, and customizations.
  • Sandbox first: As with any package upgrade, we recommend performing the migration in a sandbox environment before applying it to production.

If you run into any issues during the migration, contact your Baucore administrator or reach out to the support team.
