Troubleshooting Baucore
When things aren’t running as expected, you may need to analyze log files. There are a few ways to read them:
- Salesforce Debug Log
- Baucore Diagnostics
- Managed Package Debug Log
“You don’t have read permissions on the User External Credential object”
If a user’s profile or permission set doesn’t include Read access to the User External Credential object, authenticated callouts to external systems can fail — for example, Baucore Cloud API callouts used for project matching. Standard profiles usually have this Read access by default, so the issue may go unnoticed until it doesn’t.
Resolution:
- Create a permission set named Baucore - User External Credential Read Access and grant Read access to the User External Credential object.
- Assign this permission set to every user who has access to the Baucore app.
Using Baucore Diagnostics
The log file Baucore itself produces can’t be seen by customers directly, since Baucore is a managed package — use Baucore Diagnostics to see the debug logs it produces instead.
- Go to Setup → Custom Metadata Types, click Manage Records on BauCore Setting, then click Edit on EnableDiagnostics.
- Set Value to
true. - Run the process you want to analyze.
- Check the produced log file: go to the Diagnostics tab and sort the records by Created Date.
- Don’t forget to disable Diagnostics afterward by setting EnableDiagnostics back to
false.
Records in the Diagnostics object can be deleted once you’re done with them.
If the information you find isn’t enough, create a support case on the Baucore Support Portal.
